Greetings, good people of tumblr and the Inter-web at large. I call upon you now all with a solemn request.
I’ve been refining a fanmix for a fantastic novel, Pegasus by Robin McKinley (http://www.robinmckinley.com/books/pegasus/), a great read if you’re in the mood for magical intrigue and kick-ass friendship. I’ve pretty much finished it, and will be posting it sometime in June or July.
This is where I reveal the hovering ‘but’ in this whole situation. I am spectacularly clueless when it comes to making cover art. I have no idea how to, nor the necessary programs for image manipulation.
So far, I’ve been making covers out of pictures I’ve hunted down on tumblr, all of which I only ever shared with close friends, giving full credit for the images to their creators and sources.
I would be exceedingly grateful if some would recommend a free image editing program, and a place to find free brushes/graphics? Tutorials would be appreciated greatly as well!
Most of all, I would be eternally thankful if someone would point the way to a person or site that hosts quality art/photos for free use, as I am doubtful of my ability to make a credible manip of my own at first.
If anyone would be willing to inform me on any of the above subjects, the tear in the space-time continuum where my heart should be would overflow with undying affection (Zombie Love is Longer Love). :D
Cheers,
Jadezaera

“Help Flourishes”
So I finished this piece a while back and just kept forgetting to upload. I had to take photos because I don’t have a scanner that big, but I hope to find one soon. It’s only 12”x18” after all.
Anyway, India ink and Koi watercolors on Strathmore cold press.
